Titan Pharma receives milestone on Probuphine approval

Titan Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TTNP) has received a $15-million milestone payment from development and commercialization partner, Braeburn Pharmaceuticals, following FDA approval of Probuphine, the first six-month maintenance treatment of opioid dependence.

Under terms of the licensing agreement, closely-held Braeburn will pay Titan tiered royalties on net sales in the U.S. and Canada at rates ranging from the mid-teens to low-twenties. In addition, Titan is eligible for up to $165-million in milestone payments based on achievement of certain annual sales targets.

Incyte to acquire ARIAD’s EU operations, in-license Iclusig

Incyte (NASDAQ:INCY) has agreed to acquire ARIAD Pharmaceuticals’ (NASDAQ:ARIA) European operations. At the expected June 1 closing of the transaction, Incyte will obtain an exclusive license to develop and commercialize Iclusig in Europe and other select countries.

The agreement to divest its European operations and out-license Iclusig in Europe will enable ARIAD to focus its promotion of Iclusig on the highly valuable U.S. market, while strengthening its financial position and maintaining important optionality through a potential buy-back provision for the Iclusig license rights in the event of a change-in-control of ARIAD.

Fresenius extends Endexo accord with Interface Biologics

Fresenius Medical Care (FSE:FME; NYSE:FMS) has extended its exclusive licensing agreement with closely-held Interface Biologics for use of the Endexo technology in chronic dialysis systems to cover the acute dialysis market, including continuous renal replacement therapy.

Interface BiologicsInterface’s Endexo is a self-locating fluoro-oligomeric additive that results in a passive surface that reduces platelet adhesion and activation, protein adsorption and thrombus formation in medical devices, potentially reducing the use of drugs such as heparin.
